Steve Haney

Steve Haney is a percussionist that specializes in applying a unique groove into various styles of music. Haney has studied both popular, and Afro Cuban folkloric music in Havana, Cuba, and Rio de Janeiro/Bahia Brazil.

In 2009, Steve had the honor of performing with two-time Academy Award-winning composer/vocalist A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) at the White House in Washington DC at President Obama's First White House State Dinner honoring the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh. Highlights of past recordings and performances include Stevie Wonder, Take 6, Brand New Heavies, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Greyboy Allstars, Ozomatli,  Surfari National Geographic TV , Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Melvin Sparks, Marc Antoine, Andy Bey, Jennifer Pena & Obie Bermudez, Jack "Mr. Bongo"Constanzo, The Breakastra, Michael Franti's Spearhead, KD3 (Karl Denson Trio), DJ Greyboy, Biz Markie and Jurrasic 5.

Steve’s performances with international touring groups have showcased him in concerts and festivals in Italy, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, London, Canada, Mexico, and throughout the United States. Steve is a proud endorser of Toca Percussion and Gibraltar Hardware.
