Niall Gregory

Niall Gregory started his music career-playing drum set around 1990 in Drogheda, Ireland. Soon after he entered the world of percussion by joining Irelands first Samba school. He has performed with and studied extensively with Brazilian master drummer Dudu Tucci.
Niall has also made several trips to the Caribbean to study with some of Cuba's master drummers. While in Cuba he studied with members of Clave Guaguanco, Afro Cuba de Mantanzas, and Rumberos de Cuba among others.
Upon his return from Cuba, Niall became one of Ireland’s most sought after teachers of Afro Cuban percussion. He currently leads his own group, Cachimbo, who released the album, Si Emi Ilu (Spirit of the Drum).
Niall has toured internationally with Dead Can Dance and is a member of Sully Erna’s (of Godsmack) touring group. Their first album, Avalon, made its debut at number 22 in the USA Billboard charts. The group has toured throughout the USA and Canada in support of their album.
